UX in Apps for Children with Special Needs

How difficult is it to design an app for children with autism and other disorders that would be adapted to the needs of this extremely diverse group?
Designers are not children. This simple fact means that designing applications for the little ones is a challenge right from the start. In a situation where additional factors come into play, such as creating a game that will appeal to children with developmental or behavioural disorders, the need arises to understand these children’s peculiar inner world and to translate it into specific UX decisions.

It is even more evident when adults are faced with a task of designing applications for children with disorders such as autism or Down syndrome.
